I spent 7 years on the Board of South Tyneside Homes as a Tenant member of the Board. I have been a Rotarian for 7 years supporting local good causes. I worked for St Clare's Hospice as a fundraiser for their Lottery for over 11 years, and I am Treasurer for the South Shields Constituency Labour Party. Stood as Labour and Co-operative Party Candidate in the Whitburn and Marsden ward in the May 2023 Local Elections.
